Secure, Dynamic Interoperability of Microgrid Assets

Summary Statement

NOTE: this is no longer an active CREDC research activity.

Microgrids are likely to emerge as a means to advance power and cyber-physical resiliency in future grid systems. However, interoperability of various components is presently ad hoc, with suboptimal and cyber-insecure operation and dispatch. This research activity will develop a distributed framework for optimizing the management of microgrid assets so as to maintain stable operation in the face of adverse events, including attacks against the microgrid control plane. This framework will be validated through simulation, with the goal of an eventual field demonstration.
