Kamrul Hasan is currently a PhD. student in the Department of Modeling, Simulation & Visualization Engineering (MSVE) at Old Dominion University (ODU). He also works as a graduate research assistant in the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) at ODU. His research interests lie cybersecurity of the smart grid and cyber-physical systems (CPS), including SDN enabled risk modeling, system resilience during cyber intrusion and prevention, vulnerability assessment, and secure system architectures.

He received M.S. degree from the Department of Computer Information and Systems Engineering (CISE) at Tennessee State University major in wireless security. Previously, he worked as a lead engineer of core network operation in a multinational telecommunication company in Bangladesh. Recently, he worked as a summer research scientist in Accenture Technology Lab and developed a tool for proactive and reactive risk analysis of CPS. He has authored four research articles in journals and conference proceedings and one book chapter on SDN enabled smart grid, Energy Delivery System (EDS) resilience, wireless security and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT).
